christmas fundraiser!

I am so pleased to announce that GOOD BIRD DESIGN is officially ready for our big Christmas Fundraiser! (Do I hear a faint "Wahooooooo!" out there?) Since this summer we have been working to start our small craft collective, and I think we are off to a great start!  Many thanks to Dannie McConkie of SHERIDAN CARVING and Christina Mckenzie of TINKATOTS for joining the collective and donating some of their work to this great cause.  Both are so wonderful and talented...and more information about them will soon be available on our Artists page.  

I know you are all busy out there...trust me, I get it.  The moment Thanksgiving ends, my To Do list gets a little out of control.   Okay, a lot out of control.  So many good things to be involved in, so many places to put my care.  Of a million worthy causes, Good Bird Design has chosen to work toward supporting Africa Heartwood Project.  The work they do is well managed, respectful, and completely volunteer.  So many of you participated in our summer neighborhood bake sale/craft sale.  Thanks to our generous beyond generous neighbors, we raised enough funds through that ONE PROJECT to support the care and education for one young man in Ghana for an entire year.  THAT, my friends, is what working together can achieve! That is what it looks like to make a difference.

Our work continues...we are motivated to do more.  And the goal is to raise enough funds to also assist our young friend Barbara, currently in the care of Africa Heartwood Project's Refugee Orphan Home in Ghana.  We have been writing to her for a few months now, and she is in our hearts.  She is so genuine, so grateful for any small connection...and very deserving.  Her previous sponsorship ends in December, and we want to be certain that she continues to have an opportunity for education and medical care and a happy, healthy life.  We love her, and we invite you to help us help her by shopping at Good Bird Design!  So many of you bought crafts at our bake sale this summer, and we want you to know how grateful we are to you.  Now is a chance to share the love and tell your friends and family about Good Bird Design.   100% of the proceeds from Good Bird Sales will be donated to Africa Heartwood Project.  So take a look at our shops and consider giving a gift this year that benefits a really good cause!  Re-Pin us on Pinterest or post something on Facebook...let's generate some buzz...and let's make this sponsorship HAPPEN!
